Our favorite time of year happens in August when kids gather for the weekend to experience Coonskin Cap Brigade held at Camp Cotubic. The event captures the heart of our organization as it is what brought many members of our own family together each year. Fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins and people who became like blood relatives, have been involved in attending, and then becoming instructors over the years. It truly is a family event! We are also fortunate to have many professional volunteers as well. ODNR officers and many others are deeply involved year after year. We can’t thank them enough!

This year was more difficult than others for some youth groups and parents being able to afford the registration fees, so our check was a little bigger than in past years to provide that funding. We are happy to do it as the event brings everlasting memories and skills that will be retained to the youth that attend.
